Hollyrey is a South African musician. She recently opened up about her diabetic journey on social media. She has been dealing with diabetics for the past two years.
She shared:
“A Diabetic Warrior
No these aren’t Tampons, These are the number of insulin pens I have used in the last 2 years. Diabetes has no quick fix cure or remedy and it is a struggle and battle every single day to regulate and manage your sugar levels. Diabetes is the number one chronic illness killer in South Africa, but we are not talking about it. It is so important to that we as a society start to create awareness about this disease, especially during these trying times.
I know that covid has been tough on all of us and we are all frustrated with the restrictions but it is really important to stay safe and follow regulations so that we can protect the most vulnerable members of our society”, she said.
