Actress Letoya Makhene weighed in on what happened to a man called Sam Junior Mbatha, whose life was shortened.
She shared on social media that she could not go to bed, as she had a heavy heart that night, after finding out the cruel manner in which the man was murdered.
She recalled how some of her brothers and sisters were also killed, she said,
“We have gone through so much as a country. We have gone through so much as people. I’m really struggling to understand why we carry so much hate and history keeps repeating itself“
“Why can’t we live and let live and accept other human beings for who they are”
“Why are we so desperate to suppress other people and want them to have our colour, our religious beliefs, our sex organs and sexual choices for them to be one of us and belong”
“Why can’t we all just accept that we are different as human beings and we came to serve a different purpose on earth”
“Why are you people killing Gays and Lesbians when all we do is mind our own business and lead our best lives. Why do you hate yourselves so much that you project and take out your self hate on other people”
She also revealed her past experience when she was judged, ridiculed, ostracised and how she was attacked by the society for coming out as Lesbian.
Sam Mbatha was killed when he was put in the boot of his car and the car was set alight.
