Mthembeni Ndevu, also known by his stage as Emtee, may lose his double-cab Ford Ranger after court documents revealed that he owes FFS Finance SA almost R200 000 in arrears on the vehicle.
Emtee has skipped roughly 20 payments after purchasing the car for R476 590 in February 2018, according to court documents filed in the Johannesburg High Court.
He agreed to pay R9 417.81 over 72 months as part of the deal. However, by May 2018, he had already missed two payments. He now owes R194 378 in arrears to his creditors, who want the car back.
Despite Emtee’s denials, the 28-year-old iThemba hitmaker has really fallen behind on his vehicle instalments, according to an application filed in January in the Johannesburg High Court by FFS Finance SA. Emtee signed the contract for the car on February 19, 2018, according to the records.
