Poverty led Amukelani to steal
Amukelani Makwarela a 21 year old girl was born at Vondwe by her late parents ( mr and mrs Makwarela). Amukelani’s life has not been easy since the deaths of her parents because no one in her family wanted to stay with her.
It is said that due to poverty she’d been drinking alcohol and smoking weed and it also led her to steal other people’s property. It is also said that in every house that she enters she also allegedly leaves faeces on the dishes.
On sunday 6 December 2021 she was found at maniini inside Mavis Mudau’s house stealing food. At first Mavis was shocked to see a girl whom she’d never seen before inside her house but she didn’t do anything out of hand. Mavis asked Amukelani to sit down and started to ask her how she became like this. Amukelani explained everything to her. Indeed mavis is not cold hearted, she promised to stay with her and give her motherly love which she’d been willing to have as her relatives had abandoned her.
She also promised to take her to rehab as she had been addicted to weed and alcohol.
