After Nzuzo Njilo got married to one of the most beautiful women in South Africa’s entertainment industry, he went on his honeymoon. When he got back, the law caught up with him because he was suspected of being involved in fraud.
Here’s what’s allegedly been going on with Nzuzo Njilo’s fraud case, why he was arrested, and a brief description of who he is and who his famous wife is.
On the morning of June 7th, 2022, the people of Mzansi awoke to the news that Nzuzo Njilo had been arrested on suspicion of fraud.
Nzuzo Njilo was reportedly charged with allegedly defrauding his business partners Blaine Evans and James Stephens after failing to honor his share of a roughly R1 million bungled business transaction. The allegations were reportedly made after Njilo failed to honor his portion of the agreement.
According to a story that was distributed by City Press, Njilo’s business partner Blaine Evans is quoted as saying that he and James Stephen had a deal in place to buy copper concentrate from NN Chrome Mining, which is controlled by Njilo, through Lund Industries.
Evans further said that he had sent R978,104 to Njilo’s Absa account, and that Njilo had pledged to provide the copper concentrate but never did so.
As a result of the ongoing fraud case involving Nzuzo Njilo, which has been in the news for a number of months at this point, on July 29th, attorneys defending his clients were given an order by a high court to attach Nzuzo’s moveable possessions and auction them off.
A story that was released by City Press states that debt collectors went to the home of Nzuzo Njilo in Hyde Park Johannesburg on the 19th of August 2022, but the merchant pled poverty when they approached him.
It was also stated by City Press that the debt collectors were successful in retrieving several home things like television sets, furniture, and a refrigerator with a value of R350 000; nevertheless, this amount was insufficient to satisfy his obligation of R1 million.
In addition to the drama surrounding the recovery of debt, it was revealed that two of the cars that Nzuzo Njilo had purchased in 2021, one of which was a Range Rover for Faith Nketsi to celebrate their anniversary, were allegedly rented from a car dealership in Sandton. One of the rented vehicles was a Range Rover.
