Singer Moneoa claims that her former boyfriend, Phiwe Maphanga, who is now married to Tasneem Motara of the African National Congress (ANC), damaged her career, conned her, and assaulted her.
On Friday night, August 19, Moneoa disclosed on her Instagram profile that her former boyfriend, still owes her an amount of R500,000. The revelation took place on Friday. Not only did he destroy her professional reputation, but there are also allegations that he physically abused her while they were together.She also revealed that he had once beaten her up after she had refused to make him breakfast on New Year’s day a number of years ago. This information was provided by her.

The musician’s ex-boyfriend continued by saying that he has been receiving threats from the musician. A statement to the effect that she would use her popularity and social prominence to damage him physically and in his reputation. A few days ago, she also wrote him threatening messages in which she stated that she would bring him and his family to ruin.
Moneoa wrote this on her instagram page:
I’m gonna share something with all of you that has not only weighed stress on my heart and mind for over 5 years now but has also inconvenienced my life in ways I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I can’t stand that it’s come to this but Unfortunately I feel that I’m left with no other choice. I want to clarify that I don’t hate Phiwe Maphanga but I now realise that his refusal to cooperate in this matter has nothing to do with any difficulties he has with resolving it.
It’s because of my patience and silence all these years, that he feels invincible and continues to inconvenience my life. He relies on my silence because he knows how sacred my privacy is to me. I’m going to try and explain this the best way I can but please bare in mind that I’m summarising something that has spanned over 5 years. It’s consists of many complexities. However, I know I’m not the only one he’s done this to. My objective here to reach out to the public with the hope of help because everything else that I’ve tried has failed me, specifically the law.
To top of all of the trauma Phiwe Maphanga has caused me, I can’t let him get away with this.
